This album is meant to be something of a record of the time I spent busking in the summer from 2017-2023 in downtown Littleton, Colorado, which was the context for attempting to reinvent my musical personality in the light of deep study and self-critique. It includes 6 pairs of preludes and loops, each recorded in a single take without overdubs (video of the performances can be found on my youtube channel - youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgKpbydE7PTaZ2i_1ghNl3j_Bghu62OGQ&si=8YezgjX7xZHl7egV). Each looping composition is titled LL #, which stands for "long loop", as the principle compositional limitation was the attempt to construct looper music using much longer loops (30-60 seconds or so) that only repeat a handful of times (therefore employing only a handful of layers). My hope is that the result will be more than just a useful exercise, but an enjoyable listening experience as well.
